Description
In October we're hunting the rut in the high timber and edge of the alpine. This hunt is based at our lodge but tent camps are used to reach further out some days. Mornings and evenings are spent calling for moose and days are spent looking for sign. We're often close to the truck but can hike out further based on hunter preference. Hunters can expect snow some days but temperatures are often in the 50s during the day. A Mule Deer or a Black Bear tag can be added to this hunt. In November there's often a couple feet of snow where the moose are so we hunt by truck and snowmobile. We return to the lodge each night on this hunt. Temperatures are typically around freezing during the day but can be as low as -20 this time of year. We hunt logging cut blocks and burnt ridges with lots of glassing for moose. A Cougar, Lynx or Bobcat tag can be added to this hunt.
